Privacy Policy — HosT.ia Guard
Short version: HosT.ia Guard analyzes your CCTV videos to detect cash transactions and POS discrepancies. Videos are processed locally on your device and are NOT uploaded to our servers. No personal data is collected or transmitted.
1. Data Collection
HosT.ia Guard does NOT collect, store, or transmit the videos you analyze. All video processing runs locally on your device. The app does not send video files or analysis results to any external server.
The app requests the following Android permissions:
- Storage / Read external storage — To access video files from your device for analysis. Only accessed when you explicitly select a video file.
- INTERNET — Reserved for future optional cloud analysis features. Currently unused.
2. How Video Analysis Works
When you upload a video for analysis:
- The video file is read from your device's storage
- AI processing runs locally on your device
- Results (alerts, statistics, detection matrix) are displayed on screen only
- The video file is NOT uploaded to any server
- No copy of the video is retained after analysis completes
3. Data Usage
The app analyzes security camera footage to detect:
- Cash transactions visible on camera
- Discrepancies between POS records and video footage
- Suspicious behavior around cash registers
Analysis results are displayed on your screen only. They are not stored, transmitted, or shared.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not share data with third parties because we do not retain videos or analysis results. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking services embedded in the app.
5. GDPR Compliance
As a data processor, we guarantee that:
- Data does not leave the device — All processing is local (offline mode)
- No international data transfer — Videos never leave your device
- User control — You have full control over your videos at all times
- Right to erasure — Since we store nothing, there is nothing to erase
- Data minimization — We process only what is needed for the analysis you request
6. CCTV and Legal Compliance
As the user of this app, you are responsible for ensuring that your use of CCTV footage complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including:
- Informing employees and customers about video surveillance
- Complying with data retention limits for CCTV footage
- Ensuring proper signage where cameras are recording
HosT.ia Guard is a tool that processes footage you already have the legal right to access. We do not provide legal advice regarding CCTV compliance.
7. Children's Privacy
This app is designed for business security use. It does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since the app processes videos locally and collects no data, this is inherently satisfied.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we ever add any data collection or cloud processing features, we will update this policy, request your explicit consent, and make all such features clearly opt-in.
